内容简介：

Onlineshopping holidays, such as the Single’s Day (China) andCyber Monday (US), can generate a significant demand surge that was a nightmarefor the shippers to deliver on-time and thus often resulted in a huge blame tothe shippers from both the sellers and the customers. In this work, we compare twoshipping contracts, flat rate and risk penalty, to coordinate the seller’sinventory and the shipper’s capacity strategies to handle the significantdemand risk with a win-win outcome.

主讲人简介：

Dr.Yao Zhao is a professor at the Department of Supply Chain Management at Rutgers– the State University of New Jersey. He obtained his Ph.D. degree inIndustrial Engineering and Management Sciences from Northwestern University. Hewas a visiting scholar at MIT Operations Research Center and a visitingprofessor at Duke Fuqua School of Business. His research interests lie inSupply Chain Management, Analytics, and Healthcare. He is the recipient ofhonorable mention in M&SOM student paper competition in 2001, the NationalScience Foundation Career Award on Manufacturing Enterprise Systems in 2008,and nominated as the Dean’s Research Professor for 2019-2022. His MIT SystemDesign Management webinar on the 787 Dreamliner received world-wide attentionwith 307 attendants from 29 countries and 50+ companies or organizations.
