Social Media, such as Facebook and Twitter, have grown rapidly in recent years. Friend recommendation system, as an important emerging Social Media component, may efficiently expand Social Media network by proactively recommending new and potentially high quality friends to users. We introduce a new Friend Recommendation system using a User’s Total Attributes Information (FRUTAI) based on the law of total probability. Using the real-world data from a dominant Social Media provider, we extensively evaluate the proposed method with other existing friend recommendation algorithms. Our experimental results have demonstrated the better performance of FRUTAI comparatively. Our findings may provide some important and practical implications to Social Media design and performance.
主讲人简介：
刘跃文是香港城市大学及中国科学技术大学博士，新加坡国立大学访问学者。曾任香港城市大学高级研究助理、腾讯科技（深圳）有限公司数据研究员（高级工程师），现任西安交通大学管理学院信息管理与电子商务系讲师。在腾讯工作期间，主导开发了QQ“可能认识的人”好友推荐算法、QQ新增好友自动分组算法、QQ圈子群组识别算法等，获批9项国家专利。目前已开展的研究包括电子商务定价行为探究、社交网络用户交友行为研究、创新扩散行为研究等，研究成果发表在Decision Support Systems、Electronic Commerce Research & Applications等国际期刊上，并获得中国博士后科学基金、国家自然科学基金等多项基金的资助。
